What are the reasons for a driver’s license revocation?

Just the same as many other individuals, you rely on your car to get you from point A to point B. Unfortunately, if your driver’s license is revoked, you may find yourself in a difficult situation in regard to transportation.

There are many violations that can lead to a driver’s license revocation, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  2. Reckless driving

  3. Illegal drag racing

  4. Leaving the scene of an accident

There are times when one violation of the law results in a driver’s license revocation, but this is not always the case. Typically, it takes multiple convictions for this to happen.

There are also nondriving offenses that can result in your driver’s license being revoked, such as:

  1. Use of altered license plates

  2. Drug offense by a minor

  3. Conviction of a drug related crime (nonDUI)

  4. Failure to comply with a child support order

Since there are so many potential reasons for a driver’s license revocation, you need to do your best to avoid trouble with the law. If you continue find yourself in trouble, especially as it pertains to your driving style, it could eventually result in a loss of license.

Your driver’s license is a big part of your life. If you receive a traffic ticket for any violation, learn why and then focus on your legal rights.

Depending on your situation, you may want to fight back with the idea of lessening your penalty or avoiding trouble altogether. This is much better than sitting back and hoping that you avoid a driver’s license revocation.
